I would like to apologize to everyone I may have intruded upon a few nights ago. It was an accident, and it will not happen again.

[at first there is a whole lot of nothing, because he isn't even entirely sure of what to say, but eventually he just managed to scribble out a brief message:]

[slow-time action spam is definitely fine. A little while later, Cas is appearing in the tower lounge, looking around for Jo. and the pizza]

[Jo's alone and curled up in one of the couches, blanket covering her feet. She obviously looks more subdued than usual, looking like she might have a hangover or two of her own. The pizza is right beside her. Extra cheesy goodness, Cas.] Hey there, Cas.

[makes his way over to her, before sitting down as he always does, ramrod straight with impeccable posture]

Hello, Jo.

[Jo's...slouching like a slouching thing and can't help but arch a brow at the posture. She lifts up the pizza box in offer.]

Figured I'd take advantage of the fact no one's around. Gets too crowded in here sometimes, and after a long shift, I like the quiet.

[reaches for a slice and takes it. he can't slouch. he doesn't know how, really. And when you've crammed a bright ball of light the size of the Chrysler building into a human's body, I don't think you can]

It is quite peaceful.

It works for me. So, uh. You drank a whole bar?

Yes. It takes a great deal of alcohol for me to actually feel anything. The last time I was that intoxicated, I drank an entire liquor store.

Yeah, you said somethin' about it being hard to get you drunk during the blackout. You just didn't seem like you were interested in drinking when you were with me and Dean, so I had a hard time believing you would, is all.

It's not pleasant. I usually prefer not to but sometimes it's better than ... dealing with other emotions.

[meaning, he's not so good at the feeling human feelings thing]

[Annnd she'd be a hypocrite to call him on it, since she went and got drunk, too.]

Yeah, I know. The problem is you wake up the next day and they're still there.

[nods slowly]

It is nice to ... take a break, however. At least when I don't have Heaven to escape to.

[She smiles at him a little sadly]

You don't feel a thing in Heaven? ...It must be kinda overwhelming, huh? When you're not used to any of this.

It is not that I don't feel anything. Heaven just has a way of ... muting them. Making them seem less important.

[a pause with a tinge of sadness]

But it has been a long time since I was allowed to go home.

Yeah, it's been a long time but my home's helluva lot different than yours.

[It makes her sad for him. :C]

I'm sorry, Cas. You must also miss your family.

Family ... doesn't mean the same as it does to you, Sam or Dean. I do miss them, but they were the ones who cast me out in the first place. They were the ones who wanted the Apocalypse in the first place.

[pauses]

It's very complicated.

Why would they want the Apocalypse? You'd think they'd try to stop it from happening in the first place.

[Jo shakes her head and offers him another slice of pizza, while starting in on her third.]

I got time. If you want to talk about it, that is. Wouldn't blame you if you didn't, considering last time.

[there's a slight shrug. This part isn't so hard to talk about]

They wanted to reclaim the world for Heaven. They felt that humanity had had their time, God was gone -- they wanted to start paradise. They believed that in the final battle between Michael and Lucifer, Michael would win, and they didn't care what happened to the humans in between.

I disagreed, and sided with Sam and Dean. They didn't take it well.

And God just...let them take the reigns like that?

[She doesn't know what to think about angels that wouldn't care about God's creation.]

...No offense, but they sound like jackasses.

[a small smirk]

Most hunters developed that opinion. As for God ... God had been gone for many years. In order to preserve free will, he can't interfere directly, and we had made our choices.

[have the faintest smirk right back]

Yeah, can't see Dean kicking back and having a beer with them.

[at the rest, she grows quiet. solemn, almost but not quite.]

Do you regret your choice?

[that's a loaded question. because maybe he might have had more power. If he hadn't openly defied Heaven so early, he might not have had such a hard time later. But in the end, the answer really was simple]

I regret not doing it sooner. I might have been able to prevent the whole thing in the first place.

What matters is you did. It's not easy, standing up to your family, whatever it means to you.

[She and Ellen would butt heads frequently and Jo had a big mouth, sure, but it took her a painful truth and a lot of steel to finally head out the door one day.]

No. I know it's not.

[Jo places the pizza box on the table across from the couch, sitting back down closer to Castiel and placing the blanket over him, too. Yeah, she's sharing Cas.]

Sorry about all the questions. I can be nosy. [Understatement.]

[there's a bit of a small smile at the gesture. he doesn't need it, but he appreciates the motion]

It's fine. Most people have a lot of questions.

[Jo smiles back faintly, slanting her head to the side.]

You still take the time to answer 'em and I appreciate it. If you ever need me to return the favor and got questions of your own, I'm all ears.

[nods]

I appreciate that as well.

[with that settled, she huddles closer to the blankets and continues watching the movie. she might fall asleep with her head on your shoulder, cas. jo has not been sleeping well these past few days]

[Cas really doesn't mind, but if she does fall asleep, he'll just do the two finger thing and zap her back to her room where she can probably get a much more comfortable sleep]

[Dawww, and this is why they should watch more movies in the future. ]
